Tallinnan Tuhkimo plot

Tiiu Silves once worked as a math teacher and flower seller on the streets of Tallinn. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, she emerged as a ruthless businesswoman. By selling the useful parts of the heavy industry to the West, she managed to set up a profitable company with a subsidiary in Moscow in a short time. She even claims that her annual turnover exceeds Estonia's gross national product. By using archival material, this individual history is placed in a broader, historical context. The theme of spirituality also plays a role. For Tiiu Silves, capitalism and spirituality are not mutually exclusive. She talks about her business successes the same way she talks about the connection to the cosmos she experiences when vacationing on Hiiumaa Island.
