Stevie plot

The film portrays the life of Stevie Fielding, with whom James had a lot of contact in the early 1980s. The boy grew up in a white trash environment in Southern Illinois and James tried to keep him on track. He lost track of him in 1985 only to find him again ten years later. It is not a pleasant reunion: the now 24-year-old Stevie has developed into a petty criminal. The big shock comes when, while James is working on his film, he rapes his eight-year-old niece. What should James do? Drop the boy? Support him? He chooses the latter, but Stevie's fall is unstoppable.
