Stasi FC plot
When Erich Mielke, head of the Ministry of State Security, stormed into the dressing room of Dynamo Dresden in 1978 after a sensational victory in the GDR championship, the jubilant mood turned to sheer horror. His favorite club, FC Dynamo from Berlin, was to take over the GDR's top division with immediate effect. This was the beginning of a momentous era of cunning manipulation and dubious refereeing decisions. But in the ranks of the underprivileged players and fans, resistance began to form on the streets that soon heralded the end of the GDR.
