Speed Dreams: The Fastest Place on Earth plot

Two-part BBC documentary about a number of British amateur engineers and car and motorcycle freaks who travel to Utah with their home-built machines to set an equally otherworldly speed record in the otherworldly landscape of the Bonneville salt flats. There, at the bottom of a dried-out salt lake, the conditions are ideal and the highest speeds were measured on land: up to 1000 km/h.
