Speaking Directly plot

Speaking Directly is an essay film that functions as an idiosyncratic State of the Nations speech, but this time not recited by the president of America. The film tells of the political and cultural situation in America during the Vietnam War and the Watergate scandal, while at the same time being a personal portrait of Jon Jost himself, who has just been released from prison after serving more than two years for conscientious objection.
