The fact that the US military invaded Iraq in 2003 because the country allegedly possessed weapons of mass destruction has long since been exposed as nonsense. The US government wanted to bring about regime change and secure oil interests. There was bound to be war. A Symphony for a Common Man shows how the US government destroyed a potentially successful attempt to prevent that war. Negotiations by Director General José Bustani for Iraq's entry into its multilateral Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) have been torpedoed.
