Carroll Shelby was born the son of a poor chicken farmer in a rural Texas town. He later immersed himself in the world of motor racing and in 1959 he won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Shelby suffered a heart attack, forcing him to retire from auto racing. He started his own company and designed some iconic cars.
