She's a Boy I Knew plot

Meet the Haworth family. Dad was a high school quarterback, mom a typical 1950s Catholic schoolgirl. Eldest daughter Kim is an elementary school teacher and just became a mom, and Nicole is a cycling eco-lesbian vegan. Gwen Haworth was born as Steven, the only son. From early childhood, Steven knew something was wrong. He didn't consider himself a boy, but a girl. Although he was already married, in 2000 Steven decided to change himself to the opposite sex, starting with a new name and finally having hormone treatment and surgery. Gwen interviews her parents, sisters, ex-wife and best friend about how this has affected their relationship with her. With archival footage and animations to illustrate the story, Gwen makes us part of the inner circle of family and friends.
