Shadya plot

From the age of eight, the Arab-Israeli Shadiya Zouabi has been practicing karate, and with great success. She has a trophy cabinet full of trophies, is a world champion and the star of the Israeli national karate team. The Muslim family has lived in Tamra, Galilee, for generations. Father Mazen is open-minded and has always promoted and defended his daughter's karate career against the conservative members of the family. She travels with the Israeli karate team to the World Cup in South Africa in 2004. There she suddenly wraps herself in the flag of the Palestinian team; she doesn't quite know what to do with her origin and confronts her Israeli teammates.
