Shades of Grey plot

After the death of her great-uncle, filmmaker Saskia van den Heuvel suddenly receives long e-mails from his widow, Mies Biesheuvel. As a child, Van den Heuvel admired the couple who lived far away (in Canada) and had previously served in the Dutch resistance during the war. The whole family also knew the less heroic side: her husband cheated on her.
