Seven Dreams of Tibet plot

When the movie Seven Years in Tibet in Argentina was filmed, Namgyal and her sister Chukie went there to act as extras. Together with singer Tobden, they decided to set up a group for traditional Tibetan music on the spot. In Dharamsala, the Tibetan exile in India, they collect ancient texts and melodies. With the help of these protagonists, the Dutch filmmaker Jan van den Berg recorded the stories of the refugees: the hunger and torture they endured, the dangerous escape routes over the mountains, the fear that their culture will be lost. As one monk says, "We have even been deprived of our right to die in our own way with any dignity." Tibetan Buddhism is the guiding principle for the restoration of identity and reconciliation. Singer Tobden finds the strength to forgive even the one who tortured him in captivity.
