Separations plot
In 1939, at the age of three, Edith fled Nazi Germany with her parents. She now lives in São Paulo. Her five children have sought their happiness abroad, although two of them have since returned. The other three will likely continue to live abroad. One of them, filmmaker Andréa Seligmann Silva, who lives in Amsterdam, investigates in this documentary why she and her brothers and sister have left their homeland. She brings the five together in the family home in São Paulo and interviews her relatives, taking her mother's psychosis five years ago as a starting point.
