In the idyllic Italian mountain village of Lignan stands an astronomical observatory. Astrophysicist Paolo Calcidese takes up residence there as its sole winter resident. But a technical problem forces him to leave his loneliness behind to focus on something that is perhaps even more inaccessible to him than the distant stars: the people around him.
