The Bulgarian director Valentin Valchev seeks out the places and the people who figure in 'Pierwsze Lata', the documentary that Dutchman Joris Ivens made in the late 1940s about the socialist construction of Eastern Europe. Just before her death, he meets Marion Michelle, who worked on the film as a screenwriter, camerawoman and friend.
