Seconds of Lead plot

For her new novel, the Iranian writer Narges Abyar is investigating the massacre on Jaleh Square in Tehran by the Shah's army on September 8, 1978. During her research, she comes across a documentary in which the film operator of Cinema Silvana on the Jaleh -plein tells how he watched the massacre from his safe position in the cinema. Desperate protesters pounded on his door, which he was afraid to open. Abyar goes in search of the projectionist through the director of that documentary and finds him too. But that doesn't end her quest, as the man appears unwilling to tell anything about that contaminated time - he even initially denies high and low that he is who everyone around him says he is.
