Schwarzer Zucker, Rotes Blut plot

In his documentary, Luigi Toscano tells the story of Anna Strishkowa from Kiev. As a small child, she stands on the platform of Auschwitz on December 4, 1943, without knowing the name of her parents or where she was born. Filmmaker Luigi Toscano met her in Babyn Yar in 2015 as part of his project “Against Forgetting” and was deeply moved by her fate. His search for traces of Anna’s origins takes him from Auschwitz to the Belarusian village of Pronino, to the Potulice-Lebrechtsdorf camp in Poland, to Kiev and Drohobych in Ukraine, and finally to Unna in North Rhine-Westphalia.
