Schultersieg plot

Four German teenage girls are getting ready for an exciting school year. Young wrestlers Janny, Lisa, Debby and Michelle have been accepted to the Eliteschule des Sports in Frankfurt (Oder), a boarding school that according to East German traditions helps sports talents to the top. What awaits them are exhausting years of rigorous training schedules, dieting rules and enormous pressure to perform. The girls, who listen to music together in their spare time and muse about home, are not all up to it. For example, Michelle worries about her weight, Lisa is homesick, Janny feels insecure within the group and Debby sets the bar very high. The teenagers are followed for years at school, during the grueling training sessions, in the intimacy of their own residences and on the mat – the place where it really has to happen.
