Scandalous: The Untold Story of the National Enquirer plot
The documentary Scandalous tells about the infamous tabloid The National Enquirer; a newspaper with entertainment gossip and celebrity news sold in American supermarkets. The National Enquirer has revealed shocking news and photos from the private lives of Elvis Presley, Elizabeth Taylor and Oprah Winfrey, among others. The documentary shows how the editors worked and especially how far they went for a first. Large sums were awarded for tips, something strongly frowned upon by the mainstream press. In addition, high prices were also paid to keep stories quiet. All the highs and lows of the newspaper are covered.
