S-21, la Machine de Mort Khmère Rouge plot
From 1975 to 1979, about two million Cambodians were killed in the massive purges under the rule of Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge. Horrific scenes took place in penal camp S21 in Pnom Penh. A quarter of a century later, Rithy Panh returns with several guards and two of the seven survivors. There he confronts them with each other and with their past. A calmly registering camera lets those involved tell their story, supported by photos and reports. In addition to listing the official sentences and causes of death, detailed reports are given on the actual torture and massacres.
