Rutger Kopland - De Taal van het Verlangen plot

Documentary about the work and life of Rutger Kopland; the pseudonym of Rutger Hendrik van den Hoofdakker, who was born on August 4, 1934 in Goor. He is a poet, psychiatrist, essayist and professor emeritus of biological psychiatry. The makers filmed the poet from 2004 and made recordings in Groningen, Drenthe, France and Vienna. Even after his car accident in December 2005. The documentary examines Kopland's poetic work and his career as a professor of psychiatry in Groningen. The tragic admission of Kopland to the psychiatric ward where he himself was once head is also discussed. Few know his humor and light-heartedness, his cabaret group or his own 8 mm films. With unique images of performances with Kopland as a comedian, filmer and poet, but also as a psychiatrist in conversation with patients.
