This documentary is an ode to the well-known English reggae label Trojan Records. The starting point is Jamaica in the fifties of the last century, with the emergence of the uptempo dance music ska, which grew out of rhythm and blues, from which the more laidback rocksteady and reggae would later emerge. Based on the stories of artists, producers and others involved from the very beginning, illustrated with nostalgically colored, dramatic reconstructions, the development of an influential music movement is intertwined with postcolonial history.
