Rock Hudson: Dark and Handsome Stranger plot
In the 1950s and early 1960s, Rock Hudson was an icon of the silver screen with the image of the ideal betrothed. In real life, the actor liked men, a preference he had to carefully hide from the public. In July 1985, Hudson's life story took a dramatic turn when he became the first celebrity to announce that he was suffering from AIDS. At the time, AIDS was still a disease that caused enormous fear among the general public. In October 1985, Rock Hudson became the first international celebrity to die from the disease.
