Ren Zao Kong Jian plot

This documentary shows how two cities develop in a period of urban growth in China. Yumen, an abandoned ghost town, and Kangbashi, a mythical city of the future, are both abandoned, but for different reasons. Yumen is a workers town near an oil field, but because the oil supply is running out, everyone is moving. Kangbashi is a newly built modern city. The infrastructure is almost finished and the houses have been built and sold, but the inhabitants are not there yet.
