Remote Area Medical plot

A healthcare debate is raging nationwide in the US, but what has been lost in the discussions is American citizens who live day after day, year after year without solutions to their most basic needs. 'Remote Area Medical' documents the annual three-day 'pop-up' medical clinic hosted by the non-profit organization Remote Area Medical (RMA) in Bristol, at Tennessee's NASCAR racetrack. Rather than a film about policy, this is a documentary about people, about a proud Appalachian community bonding together and trying to be there for friends and neighbors who are at their wits' end.
