Quando l'Italia Non Era un Paese Povero plot

Documentary about the search for the film L'Italia Non è un Paese Povero by Joris Ivens. The Nederlands Film Museum has three copies of the film, but does not have the original negatives. The brothers Taviani, Valentino Orsini and others involved talk about the making of this lost film. Italy was a poor country in 1959 but seemed to overcome this poverty. Gas had been found in Ferrandina, Gela had oil and all the pipelines were ready to distribute these raw materials. Ivens was commissioned to film these industries. He also recorded the poverty of the real Italy.
