A small Bulgarian town and its inhabitants are in for a happy change. Cranes, foreign investors and even cheerleaders are announcing the construction of a nuclear power plant that will bring economic prosperity. Only bothered by a mosquito infestation, but undisturbed by Greenpeace or other protests, the population decorates buildings and soup bowls with the logo of the nuclear power plant. But in addition to its seemingly bright nuclear future, the town has a dark past. A past as a labor camp during communism that no one wants to be reminded of. Shocking tales of horrific crimes hang over the town, like the dark insect clouds from which mosquitoes descend on the people. The documentary tells the epic story of a village that turned into a town, into a concentration camp and into a nuclear power plant.
