Patrioterne plot

What does fear do to people and what consequences does that have for society? This question was central to the making of Patrioterne by Danish director Tómas Gislason. For his film, he traveled fifty days across the United States to record his own experiences in 'God's Own Country'. Because patriotic groups can also spread their message easily and cheaply via the internet, the filmmaker searched for contacts on the hate site and delved into a world where fear, paranoia and conspiracy theories reign.
