Four-part documentary about CG Jung, the mastermind behind the Collective Subconscious: a universal blueprint for the essence of man that revealed itself in the Archetypes he formulated. Part 1 - Individualization. A first acquaintance with the person Carl Gustav Jung in various important phases of his life, his youth, the dream experience and his vision of the natural elements. Part 2 - Psyche and Matter. Jung tried to arrive at a synthesis between psyche and matter. With physicist Wolfgang Pauli, he bridged the gap between apparently incompatible scientific disciplines. Part 3 - Alchemy. CG Jung discovered similarities between alchemy and psychology. In his view, alchemy was the historical precursor of contemporary psychology. Part 4 - The Suffering of the Soul. Jung's work had a strong religious slant. The fourth and final part focuses on Jung's book Answer to Job. For Jung, God is the source of good and evil.
