Parallel Lines plot
Nina Davenport's apartment overlooks the Twin Towers. From her window, on September 11, 2001, the towers collapse. However, Davenport is currently working in California. She can go home two months after the attack. She decides to cover the distance by car, a six-week journey across the United States. She films the journey on her own and interviews fellow countrymen she meets along the way. She encounters patriots, only a few give a critical sound. She visits places that play a role in the history and identity of her country, such as the Grand Canyon, the National Atomic Museum, Waco and Oklahoma. As the landscape flies by, she tells in voice-over what all those encounters have done to her.
