Paradise Lost plot

Fureidis is one of the few villages on the Palestinian coast that survived after 1948. Over the years, the fishing community became culturally and politically isolated as more and more Jewish settlements were built around it. Today Fureidis, literally translated 'Paradise', is a place of silence and oppression. The filmmaker grew up there and tries to reconstruct history. She does this with the story of the local legend Suaad. In the 1970s she was convicted as a PLO terrorist, but now has a PhD in law and resides in Great Britain.
