He sawed buildings in half, cut large holes in them and hollowed them out. In his short life, Gordon Matta-Clark (1943-1978) introduced an anarchic view of our built environment. His 1974 "Anarchitecture" movement, full of merry rebellion, continues to have a profound influence on the work of contemporary architects and artists. On the basis of many photos and film material we gain an insight into his life. Artists and friends talk about the controversy and influence of Matta-Clark's work and the not always easy relationship he had with his artist parents: Anna Clark and Robert Matta.
