Padurea e ca Muntele, Vezi? plot

Completely different from what we are used to, the residents of a Roma settlement near the Romanian provincial capital Sfântu Gheorghe live. The roads are unpaved, the work in the fields is still done with the scythe and instead of cars there are horse teams. Isolated from technical progress, the local Roma make a living from what nature has to offer them. Eat what you grow yourself and heat with wood. There is hardly any paid work and only the annual potato harvest is a source of income for the often uneducated villagers. Even the village chief Aron sees a bleak future.
