P-Star Rising plot

9-year-old Priscilla is a sweet, but precocious girl. When she tells her single father Jesse that she would like to become a rapper, he is delighted, because he immediately realizes that she is very driven and has an innate talent. In the 80's, Jesse Diaz was a good rapper himself, so he becomes her teacher. It also strengthens the bond between Priscilla and her father, from whom she was estranged. Over the next four years, her success allows them to move into a large apartment and afford everything they want; moreover, Priscilla now performs in sold-out nightclubs and no longer on the streets. Jesse feels reborn; he regains his self-respect as his daughter's enthusiastic manager. But Priscilla tries so hard to make him proud that she doesn't get a chance to be a child anymore; she's trapped in a world of people twice her size and four times her age. Jesse himself is torn between his will to protect his daughter and his desire to exploit her raw talent so he can realize his dream…
