Our Land, Our Freedom plot

Kenyan Wanjugu Kimathi has been searching for the body of her father for years: the legendary 'Mau Mau' leader Dedan Kimathi, who was hanged by British colonial rulers. Following in the footsteps of her mother, Wanjugu continues the years-long search for her father's body. On her quest through Kenya she meets Mau Mau veterans, families of other dispossessed people and inspiring activists. Moreover, she discovers new atrocities and mass graves that the British would have preferred to keep secret.
