"Voices of my ancestors"
This docu-drama begins in Berlin with Eny, an aspiring artist/painter, and his girlfriend Juliet. Unable to escape his search for meaning and fulfillment, Eny feels like much of his life is missing, without truly understanding his family’s roots in colonial-era West Africa. The port of Guinea-Bissau was a key location for slave operations, where captive people left their African homelands for their journey to the New World. With this in mind, Eny sets out to find out why his father didn’t try to reconnect with his family after he and his sister fled their homeland as war refugees 17 years ago.
