"The untold story of the team that had America at its feet."

In 1977 New York had a summer like no other: severe power outages, the Son of Sam murders and Studio 54, but also the emergence of the first major football club in the US: The New York Cosmos with world star Pelé in its midst. In no time at all, a sensation had been whipped up around the New York soccer team that so desperately needed its heroes in these times, but too much glamour, adultery, corruption and controversy soon brought the Cosmos to its knees.
