On Hitler's Highway plot

To make this film, Kowalski spent several months wandering along Poland's oldest highway, built by Hitler to move his troops to the Eastern Front. This road is still a transit route between east and west, but a lot of traffic now drives in a westerly direction. Economic refugees from the east seek their fortune in wealthier Poland. In this 'road movie', Kowalski meets street vendors, prostitutes and migrants. By going back in the history of this road, Kowalski gives a picture of present-day Poland.
