Olga - Den Sidste Storfyrstinde plot
Documentary about the life of Olga Romanov (1882 – 1960), the sister of the last Russian tsar. Olga Romanov was the daughter of Tsar Alexander III and the Danish Princess Dagmar. She spent her childhood in the splendor of the palace in St. Petersburg, but died in anonymity in a flat above a barbershop in Toronto. In between lay two world wars, a revolution and the personal dramas of an unhappy marriage, the flight from the communists and exiles in Denmark and Canada. What is striking is the way in which Olga's lifestyle evolved over the years from luxury and wealth to a simple life on a farm in Canada. The documentary contains rare footage from Russian archives, supplemented with new footage shot in Russia, Denmark and Canada, and interviews with people who knew Olga Romanov closely.
