Oklahoma City Bombing: American Terror plot

On April 19, 1995, a bomb destroyed the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. Timothy McVeigh was responsible for the attack that claimed 168 lives. This documentary examines the events in depth, from the chaos to the acts of bravery that unfolded. First responders, law enforcement officials, and survivors tell their stories. It also features audio recordings of McVeigh and shows how the FBI worked with local authorities to bring the terrorist and his co-conspirators to justice.

What a disappointment.

Only about what happened after the bombing.

Not about McVeigh the person, and very briefly about the how and why.

Straightforward documentary that told me nothing new about this bombing. I agree with predecessors that more time should have been taken to explore McVeigh's motivations, and in particular the militia he was part of. This is a growing group in the US who see The Turner Diaries as their bible and Trump as Jesus. Very cowardly not to pay attention to this in a documentary that is being made in 2025, about a subject that is inextricably linked to this.

3* because it is easy to watch

Tillman makes good use of archival footage in this reconstruction of the largest domestic terrorist attack in the US, which took place on April 19, 1995, and killed 168 people. Through a combination of luck and thorough forensic investigation, perpetrators Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols were quickly apprehended and convicted. The aftermath of the attack is remarkable and fascinating, but Tillman also considers the perspectives of survivors, relatives, and first responders who explain how this event changed their lives forever. The only thing missing is a sound explanation for the spread of the (unsubstantiated) news that the perpetrators were men from the Middle East.
