On a Friday night in Lake Placid, New York, a plucky group of American students surprised the Soviet Union's acclaimed national hockey team when they defeated them 4-3 at the 1980 Winter Games. history books because they won the gold medal. But the other side of this story has never been told. The opponents of the Americans are seen as the bad guys, but in reality they are good guys and excellent hockey players. This documentary shows what happened before, during and after the legendary match.
