"A Portrait Of Barney Rossett"
A look at the life of editor and publisher Barney Rosset, founder of Grove Press, which published works by controversial writers such as Marquis de Sade, Henry Miller, William S. Burroughs and DH Lawrence. From its inception, this publishing house has been a thorn in the side of an influential part of "morally responsible" America. The writers' works were dismissed as obscene and pornographic. For example, Miller's novel "Tropic of Cancer" ('Tropic of Cancer') was initially banned in America, but in 1964 the previous judgment was overturned by the US Supreme Court and - partly because of this - the sexual revolution started. Rosset was threatened and eventually there was even a bomb attack on the headquarters.
