Obcan Havel plot
Citizen Havel is about the thirteen years that Václav Havel was president. The film painfully illustrates how Czech politics quickly lost its innocence after the fall of Eastern European communism and sank into cynical partisan and mutual intrigue. Citizen Havel was made by family friend Pavel Koutecký, who was allowed to follow the president with the camera in his professional and personal life for thirteen years, right down to the bedroom. Provided that the images would not be shown for the first time until five years after Havel's presidency.
