O Samba Que Mora em Mim plot
Rio de Janeiro's infamous Mangueira Hill, so often portrayed with an emphasis on poverty and violence, is given a surprising new depiction in Georgia Guerra-Peixe's documentary. Traveling on the famous hill, in the days leading up to Carnival, Guerra-Peixe performs a dance with her camera discovering the unknown stories behind the rhythm of the sambas. As she introduces us to the diverse inhabitants of the Hill and the students of the Mangueira Samba School, where Guerra-Peixe's father once worked, a look of affection and affection arises as she reflects on her own history.
