Nuhuu Yagmuu Yog Ham: Essa Terra é Nossa! plot

The Maxakali (Tikmū'ūn), a small group of native inhabitants of Brazil, were once free to hunt. But the white people came, cut down the trees, dried up the rivers, and chased the animals away. The trees are gone, but the songs have remained. Through their yãmĩyxop spirits, they learned the stories and chants of their ancestors who roamed here for so long. The filmmakers, two of whom are Maxakali themselves, make a very personal first-hand report with this documentary. They show their struggle in the state of Minas Gerais, where their existence is threatened by the agro-industry and large landowners who have driven them from their land.
