New Muslim Cool plot

Hamza Pérez of Pittsburgh was once a drug dealer, but after converting to Islam when he was 21, he has been warning drugs in schools and pastoring in prisons. He is also active in the hip-hop scene, rapping with conviction: "There is only one God and Mohammed is his messenger." His mother has long been happy that her son, raised as a Latino Roman Catholic, neither gambles nor drinks. Through the internet, Hamza got to know his second, traditionally dressed wife, with whom he has a family. "New Muslim Cool" paints a nuanced picture of a young Muslim in the US after 9/11.
