Nevahoma plot

The documentary observes amateur ethnographer Khrystyna Bunii traveling through southwestern Ukraine to record the culture of the Hoetsools. Their identity is at stake: their own history and culture are in danger of being lost through oppression; they lead a fragile existence - like memories that are often carried in silence. Bunii travels from village to village to talk to the locals, digitizing family photos to preserve what would otherwise be lost. As they tell their stories, the past is also made visible to them.
