Filmmaker Jonathan Holiff had been estranged from his father Saul for years when he committed suicide in 2005. His father did not leave a letter, but he left a suitcase full of archive material from the time he was the manager of Johnny Cash, the 'man in black' from the title of the film. Saul Holiff accompanied the tormented country singer from the beginning to the peak of his career and brought him together with June Carter, the love of his life. 'My Father and The Man In Black' presents a universal story of a father-son relationship in the shadow of one of the great legends of music history.
