Mussolini's Sister plot

In this documentary with a touch of fiction, we get inside the mind of the elderly Hiam, a Palestinian woman from Nazareth. We see her at the hairdresser's, when she waxes her whiskers and when she shuffles off to bed. The mundaneness of life takes on an extra charge, because filmmaker Juna Suleiman – her granddaughter – lards many scenes with internal monologues by Hiam. Slowly we get a picture of her past: her marriage, her family and her wealthy brother who bears the remarkable first name Mussolini.
