Teenage Emelyn has an androgynous appearance and lives in a Brazilian village. When a female director arrives in the village and decides to film Emelyn's life, Emelyn transforms into Bernardo. In his surroundings he sees family and friends partying, drinking and finding love, but the most important thing in his life is the bond that develops between himself, the director and the camera.
