Moment of Impact plot

Julia Loktev, daughter of Russian parents emigrated to America, follows her mother in this family document, who has been caring for her husband since 1989. He was hit by a car and has been bedridden ever since. With a lot of humor the woman gets through the everyday actions - she dances with a pair of underpants in her hand before pulling them over his bony knees. That she also has a hard time with it, is apparent from the many conversations that Julia has with her mother in bed. Her blank husband can still calculate at lightning speed and knows a poem by Pushkin by heart, but he seems to lack an identity. This once spirited man is now trapped in his own body. Julia's position as a filmmaker also becomes more and more ambivalent during filming: ''I feel like an object,'' her mother shouts. "That digging of yours just makes it worse."
